Welcome to the third installment of a series of articles providing readers with suggestions and recommendations about what films, literature, or shows they should watch in their free time during quarantine.

HOW THE TURNTABLES. The Office, whose page on Netflix is shown here, is one of my picks for TV shows to watch during quarantine.

Madeline Brennan, Entertainment/Technology Editor

Below are five TV shows that are a must watch during quarantine, especially if you haven’t seen them before!

  1. The Office

– The Office is not only hilarious, but heartwarming filled with great comedic talent, from Steve Carell to John Krasinski. It should also be noted that this show is insanely rewatchable and addictive, which is everything you could ask for during quarantine.

  1. How I Met Your Mother

– Premiering one year after Friends ended and, in my mind, it’s clear successor, I actually far prefer How I Met Your Mother. It’s a great comedy about a man on a mission to find the woman he’s meant to be with. Filled with great performances anchored by the amazing Neil Patrick Harris, this show never gets old.

  1. Mom

– This is a show I first watched casually on Nick at Nite after Friends ended for the night. My love for the show crept on me, and now it’s one of my favorites. Chronicling the lives of a mother and daughter who are both recovering alcoholics, the show is funny while also touching on important topics in a manner that isn’t preachy, which is hard for shows these days. Allison Janney is the highlight of the program, and won two Emmys for her role.

  1. The Good Place

– I’ve been rewatching this show with my family recently and have been reminded of just how great it is. While it lags in it’s final two seasons, the first two are amazing, and realizing what the big twist is is a moment you’ll want to relive again and again.

  1. Marcia Clark Investigates the First 48

– Interested in true crime? This is the show for you! Famed O.J. Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark investigates the first 48 hours of famous unsolved crimes. Clark is a great host who genuinely cares about the victims and bringing justice to their killers. And, you don’t need a streaming subscription to enjoy this series! All of the episodes are currently on YouTube for free!
