The ending of football season is near. The last regular season game for the Pirates is November 2nd. After the last game, the football boys will be preparing for the first round of playoffs.

 

Poteau Pirates are undefeated for the season so far with one regular season game left. They have really come together this year and have played well.

 

“In the twelve years I’ve been here we haven’t been number one in the state,” says Coach Odom, who coaches the linebackers for the varsity team and serves as head coach of the freshman team.

 

This year the Poteau Pirates have been ranked number one in 4A since preseason by OKPreps.

 

“Long practices, a lot of film, and one game at a time,” says Caleb Skelton, a senior wide receiver for the Pirates, when asked how they’ve prepared for playoffs.
