The Keto diet promotes weight loss in as little as ten days by using your own body fat.

The Keto diet is a diet where people eat an extremely low amount or no carbohydrates. This forces the body into ketosis which occurs when people eat a low- or no-carb diet and molecules called ketones tend to build up in their bloodstream.


Some individuals will stay on the diet indefinitely or just do it for a few weeks to promote weight loss.


The Keto diet will sometimes be considered for the treatment of epilepsy, but only when two other medication treatments have failed. It has been used since the 1920s for the last considered treatment for epilepsy and for common weight loss goals.


The diet can also be unhealthy. For starters most of the weight lost is water weight. When your body enters ketosis, you can begin to lose muscle, become fatigued, and potentially enter starvation.


Experts say this diet should only be practiced under clinical supervision and only for very brief periods of time.
