Monday, September 24th was Senior Night and Pink Out for the Poteau Pirate fast-pitch softball girls.

 

Poteau Pirate fast-pitch played Red Oak in varsity and junior varsity games. 

Despite losing to Red Oak, the team came together as a team to enjoy senior night.

The two seniors this year were Callie H. and Kaylee N.

Callie H. has played softball for 4 years and plays centerfield. She is in NHS, Student Council, Silver Steppers, Art Club, and Interact Club.

She plans to attend OU and pursue a major in medical studies or forensics and minor in writing.

Kaylee Nixon has played softball for 4 years and has held the positions of first base, right field, and pitcher.

She plans on going to ECU and obtain a degree as a funeral director.

After the games that evening, the team, dressed in pink, honored those individuals battling breast cancer and those that have lost their lives to the disease by releasing pink balloons into the sky form the pitcher’s mound.
