On March 26, 2018, the Poteau Pirate Varsity Baseball team played two games against the Sallisaw Black Diamonds.

In the first game, Jagger D. hit a three-run home run in the district game. This means that Jagger hit a home run while two other Poteau players were on bases. This game ended closely, the score being 7-6 with Poteau in the lead at the conclusion of the final inning.

The second game ended in a shutout. A shutout is when one team is able to completely keep the other team from scoring. In this case, Poteau was able to keep Sallisaw from scoring. The Pirates beat the Black Diamonds 15 runs to none.

The next game that Poteau will play will be at the McLoud Tournament. The games will be on March 29, 30, and 31.
